Chapter Ride: See May 23 Poker and Challenge Ride
The “totem pole rain gauge” at Lake Quinault Lodge is one of the most recognizable features of the historic 1926 lodge. It stands outside the massive central stone chimney and serves both as a decorative carving and as a literal measurement tool for the rainforest’s astonishing precipitation.
This part of the Olympic Peninsula receives 131 inches of rain per year—nearly 11 feet— making the rain gauge both practical and symbolic.
Take a picture with you and your motorcycle, and a picture with you and the totem pole. Submit both photos to [email protected].
Watch the calendar for further ride details.
