Are you having trouble logging into the

"Discussion Board" or the "Members Only" site ?

Well here are a few tips to help you.

1. When you click on the "Discussion Board" link or "Members Only" link you will be prompted for the Chapter Username and Password. The prompt will look like this.

Enter the current Tacoma HOG website Username and Password combination and then select "Submit"

If you are attempting to access the "Members Only" site; when you select "Submit" you will be admitted and you can begin browsing.

If you are accessing the "Discussion Board"; when you select "Submit" the "Discussion Board" will open.

Note: The above example shows the 2005 Username and password combination, you must be a current Tacoma HOG member to obtain the latest credentials.

Ok now we move on to the "Discussion Board"

The "Discussion Board" requires one additional set of credentials that you create and only you will know the password for them, although any administrator for the "Discussion Board" can reset your password, should you forget it.

To create your own personal User Account in the "Discussion Board", simply click on the "Register" link in the upper right corner of the page.

The only required information on the "Registration" page is, "Username", "Real Name" "Email Address", "Password" and "Confirm Password";

although I would recommend that you include a "signature". A good rule of thumb is if you don't know what an item is on the registration page then you don't need to worry about providing or modifying it.

Now just select "Submit" at the bottom of the "Registration" page and you will be ready to log in.

 

Logging into the "Discussion Board"

Click on the "Log In" link in the upper right corner, you will then receive a different type of logon prompt, one that is part of the "Discussion Board".

Just enter the new user account and password that you created and click "Log In".

You are now logged in but if this is the first time you have logged in there is one more thing you need to do.

Click on the "Usergroups" link in the upper right corner.

Then select "Registered Users" from the drop down box that is under "Join a Group" in the middle of the screen and select "View Information".

You will then be shown the members of the "Registered Users" group, simply click on "Join Group" and an email will be sent to me stating that you would like to join the group, I will log in and approve you as quickly as possible.

Once you are approved you will have access to everything except the "Officers" forum and "Road Captains' forum, if you are a member of either or both of these groups just simply repeat the above steps for those groups as well and you are done.

Sorry about all the hoops that you need to jump through, but this does keep our Board private and you will find that this is fairly simple once you have completed the process.
